Granite is an igneous rock that can be white, pink, bray or black, depending on the make up of the minerals inside of it. Since the look of granite is busy, it is usually matched with solid colors so that patterns do not clash with this stone. Granite is more porous than its synthetic counterparts, so sealing the surface and occasional maintenance is recommended for regular kitchen countertop use.
